Modern Victorian
From the outside the 1906 Capitol Hill home, with its leaded-glass windows and picturesque turrets, is stately and refined.
While the home had the space and character the homeowners wanted, it also had some less-than-desirable features that needed to change.
The home's closed off floor plan lacked functionality and the fussy Victorian design did not fit the family's 21st century design aesthetic.
GCID was brought in to transform the interior to suit the sensibilities and needs of the young family. The kid friendly décor is clutter free and resilient including pull out drawers and built-ins for easy storage, furniture is covered in washable fabrics, a durable and playful paint palette runs throughout the house. Graphic rugs, whimsical wallpaper and colorful art reflect the family's character.
