The Lakefront Modern home with its unobstructed view of Lake Washington sits quietly on a private lane near downtown Kirkland. The owners, a couple with two children, wanted a livable retreat that family could enjoy every day; a contemporary, relaxed, Pacific Northwest refuge with functional multipurpose spaces. GCID was brought in at the beginning of the project to work alongside the architect. The team created a plan that embraced the site's picturesque natural surroundings while allowing for a functional living space. Rooms fluidly transition from the indoors to outdoors, wide viewing areas throughout the home provide inviting views of the lake. Natural materials such as stone, steel and hardwoods combine with streamlined Japanese influenced furnishings to create a warm and relaxing environment.
